A Day at an A/C Company

Bryan is off to the Women in HVAC/R conference, so he asks Kalos employees to document a typical day at an A/C company.

Bert and Kirby prepare for a multi-zone ductless cassette installation. The installation team also has to install a dehumidistat, which requires a little bit of extra work at the disconnect. Bert and Kirby also run a service call for a blower that won’t run (in a 130-degree attic) and play the diagnosis game in the van before they arrive. They end up replacing the blower module. Bert also cleans a drain in his special way.

Meanwhile, Erich goes to Johnstone Supply in Tampa to pick up some R-410A.

On the commercial side, we get a safety lesson about tying off ladders and warning people that a ladder is in use with a barricade. That safety tip is especially useful in parking lots, as unsuspecting drivers could potentially block the ladder. We also get to see how RTUs get on the rooftop and watch Erich locate a condensate leak on a Daikin system due to a blocked trap.

Back on the residential side, Jake demonstrates his way of doing a pressure test with Fieldpiece probes and the measureQuick app.
