Solving the Ventilation Puzzle
Clermont 34711
Ventilation is the lonely V in residential HVAC. In the last decade, it has become more than just bath fans and range hoods. Homes are getting whole-house mechanical ventilation systems now. Sometimes that’s because of participation in voluntary programs like ENERGY STAR. Sometimes, it’s because the building code requires it. The purpose of whole-house ventilation is to improve indoor air quality, but you can make things worse if you do it wrong.
In this session, Dr. Allison Bailes will discuss the big issues with residential whole-house ventilation:
- Ventilation air flow rate
- Humidity control
- Filtration
- Strategies
- Ducting
As with all the components of a house, the ventilation system has to “play well with others.” The house is a system, and ventilation is a subsystem that must be integrated properly. This session will help you put all the pieces of the ventilation puzzle together.
