A marine HVAC companyis seeking a dedicated and skilled HVAC Apprentice or Technician. This role is ideal for individuals eager to advance their skills in the HVAC industry, particularly within the maritime sector. Experience in air conditioning, electrical systems, and familiarity with the marine industry will be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities: Working with a lead technician you would –
- Conduct general repairs, preventative maintenance, and installation of HVAC-R equipment on vessels.
- Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Install, retrofit, and repair marine air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
- Execute work assignments efficiently, maintaining documentation and compliance with EPA regulations.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills.
Position Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship and a valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency in using both power and manual hand tools.
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation.
- Knowledge of EPA regulations and HVAC/R installation standards.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to report effectively to management.
- Commitment to safety, quality standards, and good housekeeping practices.
- Physical ability to work in various conditions including tight spaces and hot environments.
- Willingness to travel, including possible overnight stays, and work overtime/weekends as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- Completion of HVAC-R technical school preferred.
- Familiarity with brazing techniques for copper fittings and pipes.
- Marine industry is preferred.
- EPA certification is advantageous.
- General knowledge in electrical work, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications $16.00 – $25.00 /hr depending on experience.
